Sustainability Education
Sustainability is the catch-phrase of the moment, as such there are many teaching moments available on the "inter-web":
- In an emotionally charged TED-talk, MacArthur-winning activist Majora Carter details her fight for environmental justice in the South Bronx - and shows how minority neighborhood suffer most from flawed urban policy.
- Recent EarthHour photo-reportage form the Boston Globe in which more than 1,000 cities in over 80 countries observed on Saturday March 28th. Collected here are a series of before-and-after photographs - which will fade between "on" and "off" when clicked.
- One Drop marked World Water Day '09, where there's a chance to start a ripple effect for the cause of Water. Watch the wonderful video into!
- Slightly more left-of-centre but lots of ideas - David Attenborough's BBC video
'Tree of Life' via Richard Dawkins (dot) net [read through the reader comments]. - Related to the previous bullet is The Tree of Life web project. A collaborative effort of biologists and nature enthusiasts from around the world (over 10,000 webpages) on biodiversity, and evolutionary history.
